In survey after survey, doctors across Canada name Bio-K+® as the probiotic they most often recommend. Its clinically-demonstrated effectiveness has made it a confident choice for both clinics and hospitals.

What professionals think about Probiotics

Following the results from a study at a Montreal’s Maisonneuve-Rosemont hospital in Montreal, Pierre-Le-Gardeur Hospital administered Bio-K+® to all patients being treated with antibiotics in order to control an outbreak of C. difficile that had plagued the hospital for several months and had failed to respond to the usual course of treatment. Dr Pierre-Jean Maziade summarizes, “We witnessed results within a month. All severe cases improved. The number of patients fell by 50 percent, and today we document no more than two cases per 1000 admissions, which is 90 percent less we had the month prior. These results had never been attained before, not even before the initial outbreak”.

“The gold standard for evaluating a particular probiotic strain is the double-blind, placebo-controlled study in humans. The combination of L. acidophilus CL1285®, L. casei LBC80R® and L. rhamnosus CLR2® strains in a fermented milk preparation available in Bio-K+Cl1285® has been studies and validated accordingly. It has proven safe and effective for use in hospital settings and among seniors”.
